Sabbir Rahman is Man of the Match- Asia cup

Mortaza:  "Very important win. We have been struggling in T20Is, so a good one going forward. The wicket was pretty good to bat on but with 147, you can fight it out. It was on the slower side. Shakib played a good role but Sabbir Rahman was phenomenal. These boys are making my job easy and hopefully we can keep going." Rahman:  "Big opportunity it was for me after the first wicket went early. Stuck to my strengths and played positively. Just rotated strike and played to my strengths." Sabbir Rahman  is  Man of the Match  for his superb knock of  80 off 54 balls

"I would be lying if I say I have moved on. That is the special part of being a human being. There has got to be an emotional connect after eight years (with CSK). After eight years of IPL, it feels very different to play for any other team," Dhoni said at the jersey launch of his new team. "All of a sudden if you want me to say that I am very excited to play for a new team, don'...

Hits, misses and surprises from Indian Premier League auction 2016

Hits, misses and surprises from Indian Premier League auction 2016 Bengaluru,  by  Akash Sarkar  •  Last updated on Sunday, 07 February, 2016, 01:13 AM Pawan Negi was bought by Delhi for a whopping Rs. 8.5 crore - the second highest bid for the day © BCCI Going into the Indian Premier League auction 2016 on Saturday (February 6), the likes of Shane Watson and Yuvraj Singh were expected to fetch a fat pay cheque. Watson eventually went to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 9.5 crore while Yuvraj went to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 7 crore but not before the franchises surprised everyone by not going after him straight away. Mumbai Indians went for him after a lengthy delay before Bangalore and Hyderabad joined in. It was interesting to see that the franchises were a bit cautious throughout the day and while there was aggressive bidding in some cases, it didn't stretch past the Rs. 10 Crore mark - a mark breached quite a few times last year. "Having been...

Meet Who is Pawan Negi & M Ashwin

Pawan Negi The year 2016 has been particularly kind to the 23-year-old allrounder, who earned his  maiden call-up  to the Indian team for the home season that culminates with the  World T20 . The crowning glory was reserved for the weekend though, when Negi, with a base price of Rs 30 lakh, was snapped for Rs 8.5 crore by Delhi Daredevils. Building on his successful two-year stint with Chennai Super Kings, who signed him for Rs 10 lakh in 2014, the bowling allrounder was a revelation for Delhi in the limited-overs formats this season with consistent performances in the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In the 20-over tournament this season, he averaged 86.50 from nine innings, and remained not out on six occasions, apart from picking up six wickets at an economy of 8.71 and a strike rate of 23.1. M Ashwin M Ashwin, a legspinner, has played all of three first-class matches since his debut for Tamil Nadu three seasons ago. But the Syed Mushtaq...

Delhi, Gujarat, Pune likely to be biggest players in IPL Auction Last updated on Friday, 05 February, 2016, 06:13 PM © Cricbuzz It's that time of the cricket season when players' price tags assume an equal or even higher importance than the numbers raked up on the field. Bangladesh World T20 squad

Bangladesh World T20 Team : Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Mithun is the surprise inclusion in Bangladesh's 15-man squad for the upcoming World Twenty20. Bangladesh have also recalled allrounder Nasir Hossain for the tournament that starts in India from March 8. Mithun's selection means the Bangladesh squad has three wicketkeeper-batsmen, including Mushfiqur Rahim and Nurul Hasan, although the keeping duties will likely be taken up by Nurul. Mithun last played a T20 international in August 2014 though that game against West Indies was abandoned due to a thunderstorm. He played mostly for Bangladesh A thereafter, and hit a century for the team on their tour of Zimbabwe in November last year. Although he made only 130 runs in nine innings for Rangpur Riders in BPL 2015, his two half-centuries in practice matches after the Zimbabwe series last month played some part in his selection. Nasir's recall is less surprising as Shuvagata Hom, who was tried in hi...
